Delicious, nutritious salad swap sponsored by Fresh Express! #momsmeet #saladswap

My typical lunch, or pre/post dinner snack. I love the pre-sliced carrots! The baby kale mix is delish.

Dear Readers:

I am a member of Moms Meet and I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agreed to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC. or the manufacturer of the product.

As most of you know, for the past 10 months I have been following a healthy food plan consisting mostly of vegetables, proteins and low glycemic fruits. I have eliminated added sugar, starches and most naughty carbs in the form of cookies, breads and cakes. So what do I eat twice a day and mix it up to make the ingredients delicious, healthy and exciting? You guessed it, SALAD! I love salad. Throw on fresh vegetables, proteins and fruit and I make a whole meal out of salad. And my new fave is from Fresh Express. It is a baby kale mix and is super delicious with baby kale, spinach and chard.  I put everything on it. Including nothing sometimes. And I have been experimenting with dressings too! Yum.

I received several coupons (and passed some on to friends and family ) to expore and be creative with the Fresh Express bags and loved their ideas on their cool Salad Swap page! You can download the app for free too:

Salad Swap Page

Salad Swap App (at itunes)

When you join, you can track your calories, find great recipes and inspiration, and experiment with the app by choosing your fave higher calorie meal and its salad swap.  I picked a chicken burrito since I eat a lot of chicken and love adding beans, onions and peppers.  This recipe caught my eye:

Citrus Chicken Salad

Delicious looking and oh so healthy huh?

So then, one night I experimented with my own ingredients and recreated a chicken fajita salad:

My homemade chicken fajita salad!

Simple and easy to make.  Grill some chicken , onions and peppers in coconut or avocado oil. Then add in spices of your choice (I like hot pepper, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper etc). Then put a lovely pile of the lettuce of your choice (I chose my fave, the mixed baby kale)  add cilantro, avocado slices and if you eat dairy, some mixed cheese. I used lime juice to cook as well and put a dollop of homemade avocado cilantro dressing.  Delicious!!!

Sponsored Review and Giveaway: Exposed Envy Rhinestone Bra Strap and Bracelet set!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Cool straps from Exposed Envy , Dress by DVF

Hello Dear Readers:

I am so excited about this sexy review. I have always wondered what to do about strapless dresses and strapless bras.  One thing about (ahem) being so well-endowed in the past was that I was not very comfortable wearing strapless bras. In fact this is one of my first strapless dresses and I was so excited when it fit again. You cannot go wrong with a little black dress. Especially an easy to wash and wear cotton DVF for the summer. And my new gorgeous black and silver rhinestone straps from Exposed Envy (with matching bracelet) are the perfect accessory. And it was super easy to attach the straps to a nude colored strapless bra and wear them!!
Sneak peek of the strap to bra attachment.

There are these cool triangle shaped attachments that slip into the little space on the strapless...super easy.

From Exposed Envy:

"Exposed Envy rhinestone and decorative bra strap are the perfect solution to plain or worn bra straps. They attach to any strapless bra or convertible bra and are fully adjustable. In addition to rhinestone straps, they also come in beaded, printed, fabric sparkle and gem stone designs. Many of the more decorative straps also have matching bracelets to complete the look. Women no longer need to struggle with a strapless bra when wearing strapless styles. Or worry about matching or attractive bra straps when wearing off the shoulder tops and other shoulder baring styles. Exposed Envy bra straps are the perfect solution. "

I love the matching bracelet, it really pops. This photo does not do all the shiny happy rhinestones any justice!! I love that there is a strap set for every type of outfit and every color. They are gorgeous and sparkly and so feminine. These straps really brought the bling to a plain cotton black dress and I wish you could see how they shine and sparkle.

Here are all of the important links and the rafflecopter to win a beautiful set from Exposed Envy for yourself!! :

Sponsored Review: Skinny Jane Skinny Blend in Chocolate

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Hello Dear Readers:
As you know well by now, I have been eating healthy and working out continually for about 10 months now, and I feel great. I am holding steady at about 30 lbs post baby, and lost lots of inches. I don't use a magical diet plan. No boxed or processed foods. I eat food, a lot of food. I snack and even eat dessert. But I make good choices. Clean choices. And when I have a cheat meal, I have one cheat meal a week. It doesn't turn into a cheat weekend or week.

Along the way, I have picked up some good habits that help me, and I have my fave times of day and one of them is my post-workout protein shake. So as you can imagine, I was excited to receive a week trial of the Skinny Jane Skinny Blend in Chocolate.  I waited until I was back from my Florida vacation so I could adhere to a regular post workout shake. And yum. It was/is delicious. And filling. It was one of the best tasting shakes I have ever had. And it looks darn delicious too! Check out the chocolate-ly goodness below:

Here, I added a strawberry to look cute in photos...but I drank my blend as directed on the package. And I made it in the blender with almond or coconut milk. Yum.

From the Skinny Jane people, here are the deets:

"Skinny Jane helps women lose weight and be healthier and happier. We offer two weight loss challenges and several weight loss supplements on our website, Skinny Jane. The product we are promoting here is Skinny Jane's Skinny Blend and we sell it on Amazon and on Skinnyjane.com."

It has a special blend of 7 proteins that will curb your appetite for up to 4 hours and energize you. One serving has just 100 calories, only 1 gram of sugar, 3 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein. Plus, it is made with MCT oil which helps you burn body fat and is great for your immune system. Skinny Blend will boost your protein intake so you keep your metabolism high while you are losing weight. You will love the Skinny Blend Shakes!

So what is my take? I have tried a lot of protein shakes, protein blends, and energy drinks and the Skinny Jane tastes like dessert. It is creamy, sweet and satisfies the demand for chocolate and a sweet mid day or post dinner snack. After getting back from Florida, I got past my plateau and lost another 5lbs and using the Skinny Jane Skinny Blend in the middle of the day helped me get there. I plan on losing a few more inches and one more size (I want to be a solid size 4 by 40), and this yummy, tasty drink will certainly help!

Here are all of the links to hook you up with the Skinny Jane Way:

40 Before 40 Adventure number 4: Aerial Dance on the Silks with Heliummm #40before40

THIS is what I want to do some day.

Hello Dear Readers:

I finally finally finally....took an Aerial Dance Silks class. I have been talking about taking this kind of class since I saw Pink do her aerial performance at the Grammy's a few years ago and I felt so inspired by it.  But, as you can imagine there are not that many opportunities for Aerial Dance in Pleasant Valley, NY.  So I headed down to the city a few Wednesdays ago and took a class from the amazing and patient Heather of Heliummm.

We started out the class by warming up and stretching our bodies, and that included our arms, wrists etc. As you can imagine the Aerial Silks class uses muscles that I do not often use for regular running or workouts.

Then, we learned the basics. We started with how to pull ourselves up on the silks using our arms, abdominal muscles, and feet crossed to prevent slipping. This took some practice, and as soon as I just felt it in my body and stopped thinking too hard, it made sense. After a few tries I could get up to the top of the silks, and just once let myself feel  how it felt to hold on with one hand as I slid down. It was really fun.

So..... I have to tell you that when you are watching aerialists perform, they make it look so seamless and easy that it makes you want to learn how to do it yourself. It is so graceful and acrobatic and sensual. I love it. But, it is harder than it looks and it took a lot of strength just to do the most basic steps. I am glad I have been working on my arms and doing so much Pilates. It definitely helped me in this case.  Before long, we were learning how to back flip ourselves onto the silks and dangle upside down, then switched our legs. This took a little bit of grace and a lot of patience and Heather was wonderful as she patiently worked with each one of us on how to switch and where to put our arms. The photos below were taken with my i-phone as I learned how. They may not be the most practiced or graceful of positions, but I am proud that I learned how to do even the basics. And I know that I will be taking more aerial classes in the future. I loved it. It was sensual, strong and athletic and took patience, strength and agility. If you get a chance to take a class at Heliummm do so, before you turn 40!!

40 Before 40 Adventure number 3: A cool boat ride with White Ibis Tours in St Augustine Florida #40before40

Hello Dear Readers:

This post continues on the adventures of my 40 before 40 challenge with a really fun eco-tour of the water and sites in St Augustine. We rented a cool pontoon boat tour for our family from White Ibis Tours in St. Augustine (thanks Grandma G!!)  and had fun out on the water. It was a cool, brisk sunset but I caught some beautiful shots. The water  is so peaceful.and beautiful, we had a great time.

I could tell you all about the history of St Augustine, but there are websites for that. So I will link to a couple here if you are interested.  Also, if you check out the main site from White Ibis, my family is pictured there!! Coolness. Enjoy this adventure through photographs. We sure did.

Also, right now there is a Groupon for this tour, so if are planning on visiting or live nearby, check it out:
Groupon.

Ana loves the boat!

Update on #revoltnowfit. Feeling Healthy, Strong and finally working through a plateau! #eatingclean #paleo

Hello Dear Readers:

I am checking in with a quick update on my progress with Revolt and my fitness plan. This is not an official weigh in or anything like that. Just a breakthrough.

I finally broke my plateau, sometime in the last couple of weeks and when I got home from Florida, and found the scale accidentally (hidden in the linen closet underneath some blankets, oops), I checked out my weight. I know, I know. I am really going by inches and muscle and before and after photos. But, every once in  a while it is nice to know that my success is on the scale too. And it is.  I lost 5 more lbs. I am now 1.5 lbs from my lifetime goal of 130 lbs. I feel like I can maintain 130 and a size 4/6 through my 40s and on up. But just for shiggles , and my 40th birthday, I would like to lose about one more size (8-10 lbs).

In the meantime, I have been hitting the gym as much as I can, getting ready for running season (cant wait to get back outside) and have taken some fun new classes for fitness and for my 40 before 40 adventures. I have cleaned out my closets and split my clothing into three piles: sell, donate and keep. The keep pile is the smallest, and I am donating all of my 8s,10s and older clothes. Some shoes too! Time to make room for cute spring clothes and 4s and 6s to add to my smaller clothes, yay!

My food plan is going well as well and I am still following the Revolt plan mixed with Paleo. So a clean Paleo pesce-lacto-ovo-tarian. Phew.

My current measurements stand at:

131 lbs, 34 1/2 D, 27 1/2 waist, 34 hips with 37 1/2 in the booty.

Lets see where I was a year ago at this time...hmmmm?? Well, I started Revolt the last week of April into May and my starting measurements were:

150 lbs, 38 dd, 33 waist, 40 hips and I didn't measure my booty. LOL

I am so much happier, lighter. And I cannot even imagine how strong I will feel with about 5 or 10 more lbs off. I know it will be slow going, because my body is pretty comfy at 130 lbs. And a 4/6 is pretty reasonable for a 40 year old mama. But, I will try and just keep working out, eating clean and living a healthy lifestyle. That is all I can do. Oh, and try new products, new classes and new recipes. I have some good ones.

In the meantime, here are my posts to where this all started a little less than a year ago, check them out :

A vacation in St Augustine, Florida Part 1 #staugustine

Hello Dear Readers:
We got back from St. Augustine, Florida this past Monday, and the following week was a big blur of unpacking, food shopping, craft making , class taking, a quick trip into NYC for a 40 before 40 experience and back to the gym and Revolt detox for Mama.   There are so many great stories from St. Augustine and our adventures there as a family, but I wanted to start by sharing our photos:

Above:      All of these photos were taken with my iphone. Immediately upon arrival we had to inspect the beach!! My fave peaceful spot.

Below:   Ana tries cotton candy for the first time. A healthy Revolt meal. BBQ! Ana is my sweet little love.

One Day D and I took a walk through the preserve near the house where we stayed. It was gorgeous and primordial. And I loved all of the beautiful signs. It was a gray day, but it was a lovely walk.

40 Before 40, Adventure Number 2: Ghost Tours of St Augustine, Florida #40before40

Hello Dear Readers:

I am back from my most recent adventures.  We got back from Florida this past Monday, where we relaxed, had some beach time, a massage, some shopping and you know, your everyday Ghost Tour! I love tours of historical places (whether in London, Paris or Rome) and visiting some of the older cities in the USA, I have tried several kinds of tours. And yes, technically I have been on other Ghost Tours. So this is not an entirely NEW experience, but one that I have not had for a long time.

And, I always love a good ghost story. And while, my phone did not capture any orbs or paranormal looking photos, I had fun walking around town and hearing some entertaining stories of local haunted places and famous ghosts. Here are some photos I took trying to capture something, anything:

While I do not remember the exact details, I can tell you that some of the ghost stories were funny, and some just creepy. It was an entertaining 90 minute tour. If you are in St Augustine anytime soon, and need a fun activity for date night, take the tour. All of the info can be found at the link below:

Sponsored: Review of Majestical Jewelry set!

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
The gorgeous necklace set from Majestical .

Hello Dear Readers:

However, the opinions within are my own. I love jewelry. High End, costume, gold, silver, stones and beads. I love it all. I love anything shiny and pretty. Girly and blingy. A statement necklace to bring attention to the top of an outfit, or some stunning earrings to hang low beyond a full ponytail or bun. I just love the bling!!! So I was super excited to review a a Majestical Jewelry necklace set. Which one?

I was sent the Cut Out Necklace and Earrings:

                                                        Cut Out Necklace at Majestical

The set arrived in a lovely box, with a satin bag and business card. I knew right away I was going to pair this stunning set with my new red dress for Valentine's Day and wear it out! Hubby loved it, and so do I. It is definitely a statement piece and great with a simple neckline. (see photos below)

I stopped wearing dangling earrings when Ana was born, and now that she is past the age of pulling on them, I am back to wearing longer earrings that really stand out from my thick curls. These funky earrings do just that!

Also, right now the set is super affordable, and on sale for $14.99 for the pair. A great deal for a big necklace and matching earrings.

Majestical has amazing and beautiful pieces for all kinds of outfits from casual to a gown for a fancy affair. I have my eyes on this piece:

It would go well with my new skinny jeans and white tops for spring! As well as a simple dress, where it would be the center of attention!

or maybe this one:

I love all of the bright colors that pop. And FLORAL is sooo big for spring. I bought some floral shoes that would be cute with this!!!

Check out the Majestical Jewelry and let me know what your favorite piece is!! Also check out Majestical at the links below:

And check out how stunning this necklace set is and how well it brought together the whole look:

Dear Readers:

This post is sponsored by Campbell's Soup Company and I have been compensated for posting. However, as you know....we are extremely healthy in this household. We spend plenty of time running around outside, going to the gym and eating a mixed diet of fruits, vegetables and lots of proteins. Ana loves to try new foods, recipes and even follow along with my at home Pilates as well as dance class once a week. I want to inspire her to lead a healthy life with plenty of exercise and lots of food that she can make herself.

While I follow a rather strict eating lifestyle, my family eats delicious, healthy, nutritious home cooked meals. And, I have some delicious meals to share with you today. Here are 5 certified recipes from the "American Heart Association":

1. Grilled Bruschetta Chicken

This delicious chicken recipe inspires the "Italian" side of my cooking, yum.

Butternut squash is one of my favorite sides and ingredients, hands down. Every Fall I make a mean Butternut squash apple soup too. Delish. One of the best!!

3. Pizza Primavera with Cauliflower Crust

Review: The Lady in Red, a fun and flirty red dress from Haute Glam Boutique.

Hello Dear Readers:

Recently I won a giveaway from a fashion blog and could choose an item of my choice from the funky, and sexy boutique: Haute Glam Boutique  Knowing full well that Valentine's Day was coming up and having never owned anything red, I opted for this sexy and fun bright red dress found here.  Affordable, washable and form fitting, I really enjoyed putting it on and getting back in front of the camera. And though I am still not convinced that red is the best color for a red head, I really love this dress. It is slightly sheer, so I wore a nude colored bra underneath . I cannot wait to have another party or special dinner to wear out my sexy red frock.  Thanks to Annette at Haute Glam !! I love the dress.
