Review: Dei Fratelli Gluten Free Tomato Soup, yum!

Yum, Delicious Tomato Soup!!
Dear Readers:

I received a couple of cans of delicious tomato soup from Dei Fratelli to facilitate this review, the opinions within are my own.

I will start out this review by letting you know that I am currently on a detox week from my eating plan, so Duncan and Ana were the taste testers. And I will let you know that if a toddler of almost 3 likes something , it must be pretty good. So....this soup is super delicious. Ana loved it!! And so did Duncan. He had some soup with crackers, and I prepared it with half milk, half water since I wasn't sure how he liked it prepared.  He ate it right up. Well, he shared some with Ana, but they both ate it right up.  He described the soup as creamy, tasty, tomatoey and comforting. He also loved the flavor and richness. SO all in all, yum!

We love tomato soup in this house, especially paired with grilled cheese or crackers for that soothing homey meal. And knowing that the Dei Fratelli is gluten free is a nice extra! Duncan loved the zesty tomato flavor and creamy consistency.

I love supporting companies that make high quality products and keep family traditions going. And Dei Fratelli is one of those type of companies as a forth generation, family owned company. Their tomato products are grown from seedlings that they cultivate themselves. From the company:

"Dei Fratelli is manufactured by Hirzel Canning Company & Farms in Toledo, Ohio. A fourth-generation, family-owned and operated company founded in 1923, which produces canned tomatoes, tomato products and sauerkraut in three processing locations. The company owns extensive greenhouses and farms in northwest Ohio.

 And their recent press release:

TOLEDO, OH (February 2013) - Dei Fratelli, a preferred tomato brand sold throughout the United States, has re-introduced their condensed tomato soup as 100% gluten-free. The new Gluten-Free Tomato Soup replaces Dei Fratelli’s original Tomato Soup and now completes the Dei Fratelli line as completely gluten-free.  The- newly formulated product can be found in various grocery stores throughout the country, introducing a new way for consumers to enjoy their favorite dishes with more taste and all natural, gluten-free ingredients.

The new Tomato Soup has the same zesty flavor as the original and is the only condensed tomato soup on the market that is 100% gluten-free.  Additionaly, more unique benefits setting it apart from other condensed tomato soups available include being produced without high-fructose corn syrup, tomato paste or water.  The Dei Fratelli all-natural product uses crushed tomatoes to provide its fresher-tasting, rich tomato flavor.

“Dei Fratelli has always focused their attention to consumers who have dietary needs.  Our effort to produce gluten-free products has benefitted those who are gluten-free or have an allergy to gluten,” shares Steve Hirzel, President, Hirzel Canning Company & Farms.  “We wanted to bring that same quality to our tomato soup.  We are thrilled to release this new product, which will allow those with gluten dietary restrictions to enjoy the classic flavor of Tomato Soup.”

I love that it is an all natural product that tastes great, is easy to prepare, and that my whole family can enjoy! And it is good for us. We will be adding Dei Fratelli products to our staples for lunch and snacks in our cupboard.
