Giveaway: Easy Canvas Prints beautiful 8x10 ($45)

I was really excited when I was contacted by Easy Canvas Prints to try out their canvas printing, and make a beautiful 8x10. The hardest part was deciding what photo to use for the canvas. I never had any of my wedding photos printed, other than in the album (and that is a long story for another time), so immediately I thought I would hunt down the photo cd and see if I could find a print that would be ok in that size. After searching the house, we still have not found our wedding cd (it is probably still packed away in the basement), so we decided to make a family photo instead.

After I found the photo I wanted to use, I headed over to the site: Easy Canvas Prints and clicked on the Get Started Button. Then,I chose 8x10, the size of my canvas. After that, my choices were: standard wrap, gallery wrap or framed. I chose standard wrap. Time to upload my image. I chose a fun one from a recent trip to Myrtle Beach where we did family photos all in white on the beach:

Ana was 2 at the time and was hard pressed to catch a smile if she was looking at the camera, lol

I had a pretty easy time getting my photo edited to fit the square. I do wish the photo editor allowed you to make the photo a bit smaller in the entire square instead of just up and down. But I finally got it to work and fit well without cutting too much off our heads and feet.

Anywho, So I chose this cute family photo, and then had to choose the standard wall hanger, and my border option. I chose the mirror. And finally it is all ready to go. Now, the hardest part. Waiting for it to get here and picking out where it will go in the house. Which wall??

I think I am going to make a few and make a collage on the living room wall. or maybe the upstairs hallway. Either way, they are going to look fabulous.

Making a beautiful photo like the one above can fill you with happiness remembering that moment every time you glance at it. It is a wonderful way to cheer up a room, remember that special loved one, or cherish a relationship. I will be making many more as Ana grows up and we build happy family memories together.

Pulling out the ole headshot again :) Mama is back to work!

Hello Dear Readers:

I have so much good news this post will be bursting with smiles, and happiness. As you know I have been following Nichole Huntsman's Revolt plan of great healthy food, and exercise including this months's Tabatas. And, it has given me the confidence to get back out there and start acting again. I feel strong, and I feel like my body is getting back to pre-Ana shape. No, I am not "thin" yet, and I have a least a few more inches to lose from each part of my body until I hit my goals. BUT, I am getting closer and closer and stronger and stronger and I just wanted to share some good news with you. First my weekly measurements taken on Monday June 24th:

I am finding that most of my bras are loose and my pile of too big clothes is growing and growing. There is a definite listing day on Ebay in my future. My Jeans fit nicely and all those 28s I have are within reach (I would guess about another 10 lbs or a couple more inches and they will fit nicely too!! My arms are stronger, my legs are looking more toned and my tummy is getting flatter and flatter. Though there is no sign of a 6 pack yet, I do see the lines on the side starting to pop. I am hoping in the next month or so that will change and become even more delineated.

Anywho. It is time for the good news, and if you are friends with me on facebook , you would have seen it already:

shooting in and around the Hudson Valley and playing opposite the talented Robert Fontaine Jr as his wife, Ann. This is a crime drama, based on true stories and I cannot tell you how through the roof I am to be working again. I will be shooting in August, so it is crunch time to finish getting this Mama in tip top shape!

That was my status and I am still through the roof, and I snuck on the scale this afternoon for a quick peek before I start the July Uprising with Revolt and I am in the 130s, so that makes me happy too!

As most of you know, I am in training mode for 2 races coming up before I know it and I work out about 5-6 days a week. I am working with Nichole Huntsman of Revolt and running and working out with Stroller Strides in Dutchess County. Working out that much I know my muscles need a break and all of the help they can get. SO you can imagine how thankful I was when Vitacost contacted me to review the Glutamine Fruit Punch flavor from their new Aro Black Series Glutamine products. Yum.

The first thing I noticed when I opened this Aro Black Series Glutamine was the delightful pink color, and small scoop.

Perfect! A serving is one scoop mixed in to 6-8 ounces of water. So I dont even have to measure. Once the water is in, the Glutamine appears a brighter, punchier pink:

The flavor is sweet, but not too sweet. And refreshing. Especially in June, when it is hot out. I drank it right down and it is so super delicious. And the best part. My muscles do not hurt. After using this for a few weeks, it really does work.

Revolt June 9-16 Getting Stronger, Lighter and Faster with Tabatas! #revoltnowfit

Hello Dear Readers-

Happy Summer!! It is getting kinda busy around here. Lots of fun outdoor activities, family fun and things to do now that the weather is lovely and school is out everywhere in the Hudson Valley. Last week was more of a challenge than I thought it would be. I had 2 cheat nights, and missed a couple of workouts, but that is life. And come Monday, I just got right back on the horse.

I knew I had a fancy food event for Samsung House/Klout on (last) Friday night in NYC, so I decided to have 2 cheat dinners (Fri and Sat) instead of a whole cheat day. And it worked out, although I do feel like I got a little behind. I missed a couple of workouts due to headaches and scheduling. But, when I did workout I did full force. A mix of running, HIITS and Tabatas with Nichole. A good mix. In case you are late to the party, and do not know what Tabatas here , here is a quick explantion;

Tabata Training: "Any exercise can be incorporated into the Tabata training. However the basic outline of the Tabata training method are as follows:
•     4 minutes long (whole Tabata Session)
•     20 seconds of intense training
•     10 seconds of rest
•     Total of 8 sessions or rounds"

These can include pushups, side planks, t thrusters and other common exercises. It is all in the timing. I do love/hate them. But they are definitely making me stronger.

I am not posting my stats this week, because it is my bloat week. So next week I will add my measurements back in and maybe release a photo or two. Though, part of me just wants to wait until the 12 weeks of the program are done.

Now that I am halfway through this week as well I am finding I am less stringent on eating all of my meals, so I have to make sure that I do that. Skipping a meal here or there is not a good thing and I know cutting calories is not the answer to this working.

Stats will be coming this weekend, or most probably Monday as the weekend is busy and I have an audition Monday early afternoon !

#Revoltnowfit recipe of the week: Homemade Turkey Burgers and Potatoes Rustica

Dear Readers:
As you know by know , I have been following the Revolt eating plan and exercise for about 6/7 weeks and it has been great. Lots of inches lost, and I am thinning out, heading back into my 6s and eventually my 4s. In the meantime , I have shared lots of food photos from the past few weeks and this particular one warranted the recipe:

Homemade Turkey Burgers with Potatoes Rustica:

Ingredients:
Seasoning of choice (i put some onions and peppers)
Ground turkey

Add choice of seasonings to ground turkey , form into patties and cook on grill or in pan that has been oiled with non stick spray . Serve with Potatoes Rustica and green salad.

4 oz burger and 1/4 cup of potatoes are one serving.

Potatoes Rustica:

Ingredients:
1 lb red potatoes, with skin
1 lb green beans
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 cup fresh basil chopped or 1 tbs dried basil
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup Dijon Mustard
Fresh cracked pepper
Kosher Salt

Boil potatoes until almost done, add green beans and cook until the beans are tender. Drain , put back into pot. Mix garlic, basil, oil, dijon, pepper and salt in a bowl until blended. Pour over potatoes and beans , toss until dressing is well mixed. YUM

Review and Giveaway: Mia Mariu Rejuvenate Your Skin Anti-Aging Pack

Recently I started using some fantastic products from Mia Mariu included in their Rejuvenate Your Skin Anti-Aging Pack. This pack contains a Refreshing Foaming Gel Cleanser, an Anti-Aging Brightening Serum and an Anti-Aging Eye Treatment.

As a woman who is at the end of her 30's and heading into her 40's I am super sensitive to every little line and wrinkle and taking care of the state of my skin. So these products arrived at the perfect time. First , let's start with the Cleanser. Nice and light. Light scent, but not too overwhelming and it feels great on my skin. Silky, smooth. Soft. And hydrating. According to Mia Mariu: " The Refreshing Foaming Cleanser’s silky formula will leave your skin soft, hydrated and refreshed. Sea Kelp and Aloe makes this a fabulous super-gentle cleanser for all skin types."

Then, a relatively new product to my skin routine. But one I have started using recently in the past year or so to brighten up my skin. A brightening serum.

According to Mia Mariu: " Our Anti-Aging Brightening Serum is a must-have age-defying serum that targets sun spots and pigmentation while brightening overall clarity. This serum contains anti-aging peptides, skin-brightening botanicals, Aloe and Vitamin B5 Complex."

I love Aloe, and have it growing in two places in my house. When the leaves grow big and full, I snap it off halfway and use the fresh, pure Aloe on my legs, arms and heaven forbid any sunburn that might occur. It is an amazing plant. And I firmly believe in its usage forever. (and will be growing it as long as it stays alive with my black thumb).

The third best selling product that is included in this package and the giveaway is the Eye Treatment. " The Anti-Aging Eye Treatment is a lightweight formula that quickly absorbs into the skin, instantly awakening tired-looking eyes. The Eye Treatment contains antioxidants like Japanese Green Tea, Aloe and Vitamins B5 & E to help reduce puffiness and dark circles around the eyes."

I drink Green tea and take my vitamins, but nothing works towards Anti-aging like a great eye cream. And this eye cream is wonderful. Light, easy to rub in under my eyes and it doesn't make them sting.

Dear Readers-

How are you? No, really how are YOU? I dont know about you, but I feel like this time of year was so super busy and I am just now getting a breath of that fresh spring almost summer air. We are busy busy at Chez Lee, and it is my most favorite time of year yet again. Planning Ana's Birthday Party. This year we are going a little more lowkey than her first, more like the speed of her second. Cute lunchy food, appetizers and no cupcakes. I think I am going to buy an ice cream cake instead. Oh, and the theme. SOOOO super cute. Under the Sea, a Mermaid party! With fish, and mermaids and cute necklace making and fake sushi eating. Ana's Third Birthday Mermaid Party!

So this past week, Duncan took one of his vacation weeks and stayed home to work on the house. Yay! This needed to happen because we have a lot of half finished projects that really needed attention. My craft room is not finished, but it is coming along and I want you to see what he and his brother worked on. It looks so great, THE DECK! It needed to be stripped, with boards replaced, sanded down and repainted. And it looks so much better. Check it:
