Spon: Win $1 Million plus $5,000 Every Week For Life Mega Prize with Publisher's Clearing House!!

This article is sponsored by Publishers Clearing House.

http://publishers-clearing-house.linqiad.com/click/YKRQaGUfdnJk

Dear Readers:
What would you do with the money if you found out you won $1 Million Dollars plus $5000 every week for life??  I have a short list (and a long list).  And millions of dreams.

Here is where I would start:

Pay off Bills/Mortgage/Nursery School

I would start with the most boring off my list and pay off any outstanding bills, including our credit card bills. Then, I would use a bit towards our mortgage. Not sure of the percentage, but enough so we could relax.   And rounding out paying for things, I would set aside enough for another year of nursery school.

Put a chunk towards a College Fund

Then, I would set aside and continue to pay some towards a nice college fund for Ana. I am not sure how much a private college will be by the time she is ready to go, but I am sure it will be expensive.

Audio equipment/Studio

I would set up a home  recording studio with the same equipment as Audible.com uses. A nice, new mike, a great mixer and a glass studio with soundproofing.

A new store or business?

I have always wanted to open a boutique or online boutique for cute clothing and accessories and this chunk of money would help me with a down payment or money for merchandise to get started. And advertising.

Fun/Fashion

Then, I would go on a little splurge with an alloted amount, maybe $5000 and buy myself some new shoes,  a new Marc Jacobs purse, or maybe invest in another classic Chanel. Spend a day at the spa, and some jewelry. Of course I would find a gorgeous black wrap DVF dress, since I cannot find my own (I packed it and never saw it again when I moved). I would not feel so guilty shopping all of the time if I had the $5000 a week...that is for sure!!

So what would you do? Would you be frugal? Would you lavish yourself and your family with presents and a big party! I would definitely have some sort of party for my friends and family too!!

Well, why dont we stop dreaming about this and ENTER!!!! Someone has to win, it might as well be you or me ! Why are we still talking about it??

Review: Scott's Liquid Gold helps my cabinets shine!!

Hello Dear Readers:

I received a bottle of Scott's Liquid Gold to facilitate this review, all opinions within are my own. I was not compensated for this post.

When we decided to put our house in Beacon, NY up for sale a few years ago, our realtor gave us some advice for all of the woodwork.  Use a bottle of Scott's Liquid Gold wood cleaner and the wood would be clean, shiny and look new. And she was right:
Our townhouse in Beacon, pre-Ana.

I could not believe how easy it was to use the Scott's, just spray, rub and right away I could see the shine in the grains of wood. It made such a difference.

Now I have a bigger house with a lot more wood, so I am using Scott's Liquid Gold one room at a time. I started with my kitchen cabinets. I am not sure of the last time they had a good, hard scrubbing. I think it was after I had Ana, and both my mom, and a cleaning service went at them. So they really needed some TLC.

So easy to use.  Just spray. And wipe. Then, buff with a clean cloth. Easy Peasy, and Voila. Beautiful wood, that is clean and shiny!

I dont love to clean, but Scott's makes it so easy, it is fun!

I could tell a difference right away (the flash could too). And now my cabinets look amazing. Scott's Liquid Gold Wood Cleaner can be found just about anywhere you shop:

Near me: Kmart, Lowes, Stop and Shop,Ace,Walmart  just to name a few.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Tree Hut Products sound divine right about now...#naturalbeauty

beachday

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Tree Hut for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Hello Dear Readers:

As you know I have been working out 6 days a week to get ready for summer. Most of that workout is on a track and trails so my feet take a beating.

That is why the wonderful Tree Hut foot cream in Aloe and Peppermint sounds so amazing to me. Luxurious, restful and revitalizing.  I love the ingredients including:  Organic Shea Butter and Peppermint. Yum, Peppermint.
TH_PeppermintSugar_FootScrub

The Peppermint and Sugar Foot Scrub sounds downright spa-like and heavenly. I love Sugar Scrubs and one of the main reasons I love Tree Hut is the company's integrity. I also like the products are Made in the USA, do not test of animals (this is vital to me) and they do not use Parabens. A lot of other companies still test on animals and this makes me so sad and angry. But, not Tree Hut.  And they use real sugar. Yum.

Also the HandCream will come in Handy when I work at my CSA Farm starting in June, check out how amazing it is:
  • Certified Organic Shea Butter: skin repairing & moisturizing, anti-aging, promotes elasticity
  • • Aloe Vera: Nature’s soothing moisturizer
  • • Peppermint Oil: Moisturizes skin
  • • Paraben Free and No DMDM
  • • Made in the USA
  • • Do not test on animals

I tried out polyvore.com for the first time and made a little photo that speaks to how I feel right now. I want the beach and soft feet. Hot sun and cool minty toes:

Are you dreaming of a beach day too? Head over to your local Walmart and find one of these dreamy foot treatments, creams and other fine products from TreeHut:

  • Treehut Shea Sugar Almond and Honey Body Scrub
  • Treehut Shea Sugar Brazilian Nut Body Scrub
  • Treehut Shea Sugar Coconut Lime Body Butter

Review: Hugo The Happy Starfish The Secret to Happiness Book for Ana

Dear Readers:

I received a copy of this book to facilitate this review, I was not compensated for this post. All opinions within are my own.

I try and read Ana new books every week. We go to the local library and pick out 5 or 6 books that look cute, funny and educational and we also have a huge collection at home. I was excited to receive a copy of Hugo The Happy Starfish The Secret to Happiness by Suzy Liebermann, and Ana was just as happy to read it with me. I love the book for the story line and message of self confidence and happiness. Ana loves the colorful illustrations and cute characters. Together we are both happy when we read an adorable book like this one. And there is a little bit of Spanish in there, which we have been working on. Ana can count to 10 and say please and thank you in Spanish already. How cool?

Here is a little more info about the author and the book from the author herself:

"Hugo is a little starfish. He finds his life dull. Tired of feeling sad, one day he sets off to find happiness. After much searching, he discovers something that makes his heart do a somersault! Sharing with others is the only thing that makes him truly happy; all other things just made him feel better for a little while.

Adults strive to teach children to share within their communities. Encouraging children to give teaches them empathy, as well as a sense of social responsibility. Children can feel empowered by giving and sharing with others. "

I love that this book includes: Character education, and attitude empathy. Ana is already very sweet and giving, loves to share and loves babies. I see the empathy that is forming in her consciousness and she is very sympathetic too, when someone is hurt or crying. Reading her a well written  book such as this one will teach her to put words to her feelings. Also you should know:

An award winning children’s book:
Award-Winning Finalist in the CHILDREN'S MIND/ BODY/ SPIRIT
category of The USA "Best Books 2012" Awards, sponsored by USA Book News "

And a couple of photos of the beautiful illustrations:

We loved reading this together and as Ana learns to read I will love reading it with her!!

Review: Seventh Generation Products: Detergent, Lotion, Baby Wash. Facial Cleansing Cloths, Body Wash #SeventhGeneration

Dear Readers:

I was sent the following products as outlined in this review from Seventh Generation. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions within are my own.

As a Mom, I have a lot of choices of products that are out there in the marketplace. I am picky and I like to buy the best for my daughter, Ana. Sometimes the best means organic or natural or more expensive. But in this case, the best means better ingredients, more environmental responsibility and ethics. I jumped over the moon when I found out that we would be testing out and reviewing green products from the amazing company  Seventh Generation, especially the products that I would be using on Ana.

Cleansing Cloths, Body Wash, lotion, Detergent, Baby Wash, Baby lotion
  • Mandarin Refreshing Facial Cleansing Cloths
  • Mandarin Nourishing Body Wash
  • Lavender Moisturizing Lotion
  • Baby shampoo and wash
  • Baby Lotion
  • Natural 4x laundry detergent
Ana loves the bath and she really loves bubble baths and products that bubble up or froth up, so she was really excited about trying the Seventh Generation Baby Shampoo and Wash. It is easy for her to pump, has a nice light scent and it is wonderful to know that the ingredients will not harm her almost three year old skin and hair.  Gluten Free, non toxic and tear free infused with olive oil.  Perfect!

So far I really love the Lavender Lotion, and have been using it daily when I get out of the shower. Also I have started using the detergent and find that it is gentle, makes Ana's clothes soft and sweet smelling. I really love the body wash, as my skin smells so light and delicious when I get out.

Ana love the lotion, and though she says she is "no longer a baby" I tried to explain that it is gentle enough for a baby. (She is a whole 2 and 10 months) and already acts like she is a big kid. Any which way, she loves the scent and feels so grown up rubbing the gentle lotion up and down her arms and legs. I love that the ingredients are plant derived, and natural. And we both love the scent. She loves to sniff her hands after the lotion is on.

Nursery School, Potty Training and tales from an almost three year old cutie...

Hello Dear Readers:

Phew, it has been another long week. But, I made it through hormones and all, and I live to tell. The skinny is this: my dear sweet two year old is almost three. And is completely potty trained. And is headed off to Nursery School in September. And Mama here? She is a mess. A big emotional, tissue using, hair curling, mess. We visited her Nursery School this week and met Ana's teachers and they are lovely and seem to be entertained by her already. They have no idea how funny and smart she is. I cannot wait.

Since Ana was born in July of 2010 I have spent every second of my life that I possibly could with her. And though I am happy she is growing up and moving on, I am a bit sad that she won't need her mama for "craft time", "snack time" or even "playground time". I know she will grow and thrive at Nursery School, and already she talks about it nonstop. So I know I have to let go. And I will get those precious few hours a week to do things for myself. Like, workout. Or have lunch with a girlfriend. Or shop. Or clean (who am I kidding).

Still it is so hard to see her grow up so quickly. She is so mature already , doing everything for herself and I really need to start recording the funny conversations we have.  In the meantime, I will be starting weekly retrospectives up to her third birthday at the end of July. I have so many old videos and photos that have never been posted, I think it is time to go through them and archive.

So prepare for the cuteness and for a big, ole proud mushy mama. Because that is what I am.  Ana brings such joy to my heart and fills me with love. She has saved me from such a bad week. But I am hoping this week is much better.  I am feeling strong and loved.

XO

Spring Fling Review: Mustache Cookie Cutters from Fuzzy Ink.

Hello Dear Readers:

We received these adorable mustache cookie cutters to facilitate this review, I was not compensated for it. The opinons within are my own.

Ana and her bestie, Willoughby decided they were going to help us out in making some mustache sugar cookie with this cookie cutter set.  They did such a great job and I caught some adorable photos along the way.  To make it super easy, I used a mix, but usually I make these kinds of cookies from scratch.  The cutters were easy to use and I liked the size. Big enough for two three year olds to grasp and cut and make really cute cookies.

First, we made the mix and rolled it out:

They are the best 3 year old sharers

Then they used the easy cookie cutters to make three different types of mustaches. They had so much fun kneading the dough, rolling it out and cutting. See how cute they cut:

But what they really enjoyed was eating them.

And the finished product:

I found this cute Marilyn plate that fit the mustache perfectly.

You can win a set of these adorable mustache cookie cutters at this link during my Spring Fling Celebration: Spring Fling!!!

Review: Rod Stewart's New Album: Time

Rod Stewart_Time

TimeCover

Thanks to the One2One Network for sending me a copy of Rod Stewart's New Album: " Time". Ana and I have been dancing and singing around to it for the past week or so. Our favorite song together is "Brighton Beach" although I love singing to Ana his first cut on the album:"She makes me Happy". Well, because she does.

The album is all that I have come to enjoy from Rod. A combination of pop/rock easy breezy lyrics and fun car tunes that get in the head and are car hummable.? Is that a word? Easy to hum to in the car.  Here is a breakdown of my fave songs from the album and a couple of video sneak peeks so you can see for yourself that Rod still has it!

She Makes Me Happy
  • With an infectious chorus and a joyous vocal, this sets the tone of what’s to come. While it has a modern sound, the violins and mandolin give it that classic Stewart sound fans have come to love. I love to sing this while Ana is listening. My fave lyrics include: "She makes me happy like the summer sun. "
Brighton Beach
  • According to Stewart, this is the one that started it all; it made him realize he could still write a quality song. It’s an extremely mellow, acoustic number with beautiful lyrics. I especially love: "so we fell in love and I toured your heart with my out of tune guitar"  Nice!
I also like "Beautiful Morning" and the Album title song, "Time".

Check out the video sneak peek with interview here:

Time Track Listing:
1. She Makes Me Happy
2. Can’t Stop Me Now
3. It’s Over
4. Brighton Beach
5. Beautiful Morning
6. Live The Life

8. Time
9. Picture In A Frame
10. Sexual Religion
11. Make Love To Me Tonight
12. Pure Love

Want more?? Go and buy it, it is great for the car and road trips. All I have come to expect from Rod.

Week 4 Check In:working out and eating clean with Nichole Huntsman #revoltnowfit

Hello friends and readers:

I am here to check in on this rainy dreary Friday Afternoon. And I wish I didn't feel so rainy and dreary but I do. There is something really important that I need to talk about and it isn't rainbows and unicorns.

I am down, sad and slightly depressed. I guess a big part of me has always judged my worth on how I look and how I feel I look. And right now I feel like a rhino. A hippo. An elephant. A whale. A beached whale. Name a big giant lazy animal and that is how I feel. Only, I am not lazy. I work hard.

I work really hard. I eat right. I eat clean. I measure my food. I work out everyday but Sunday. Sometimes twice a day. I raised my weights, I run more. I run faster. But I am still a whale. A beached whale.  My scale is going up. My clothes are not loose. I dont have an appetite. I have bad headaches. I drink coffee. I dont crave sugar anymore so that is a good thing. I really dont crave anything actually. Except being thin. But I will never be thin again. As I am a whale.  I am a middleaged short dumpy whale. And it will never change. I will never be tall and willowy. Or blonde and tight muscled. Or thin and beautiful. I will always be how my genetics want me to be. And it is short and fat. And dumpy and whale like. And I dont know what to do to change it.  Do I workout more? Do i eat less?Do I stop eating?

I dont even like food anymore. I just eat it to follow my "plan". The one that is supposed to be working for me. The one that seems to work for everyone else.

I read: "  I lost 10 lbs! I weigh so much less. I am so strong. I look so great. I have muscles. I feel great"

And none of this is true for me. I lose nothing. I dont feel stronger. I dont have muscles. I have fat and jiggle. And blubber.

You would feel this way too if you used to look like this:

 and this:
sz 4 2009 before Ana

and now you look like this:

I think there is something wrong with me. I really do. I cannot lose weight. I cannot get thin. I am a whale. The harder I work, the less I eat the more I gain. The more I weigh.  It makes me sad.

I talked with Duncan about this and he thinks I should talk to someone about body issues. And, maybe I should. I know I have pressure to be thin, IF and a big IF i ever go back to work again.I have to be thin. Or thinner. Or just give in and play the fat girl. The funny fat chick.  But I am not funny. And I am not used to being fat. And this is my headshot (preAna):

I was thin. And pretty. And I probably will never feel that way again. And I dont want to get a fat headshot.

In the meantime, I did do my measurements. and there was a little movement.  I did not go on the scale. It is not a good week to go on the scale and I told D to hide them. I am done with the scale. I will not stop until I fit into my clothes and I am skinny again so it doesnt matter what that dumb machine tells me. I have a cute DVF summer dress in a size 4 and THAT will tell me when I am good. SO no more scale. I am done with it.

Here are my measurements for my 4th week. Not too much movement. But a little:

So thats it. That is my check in. I wish I had some inspiring words. I wish I could tell you I feel great, and that I look great. But I cannot. And some weeks, It is just going to be like this.

Have a great weekend,
