Dear Readers-
I am so excited to start the Revolt program with Nichole Huntsman, I am ready for the Revolt. First we are starting with a sugar detox and it is harder than you would think. Here I am 9 pm on Day 1, with a slight headache, a serious need for something salty and crispy and a fridge full of hard boiled egg whites and spinach. But I am not complaining, I am excited. Excited to get rid of these stubborn post-Ana lbs that just wont go away and the flab around the middle that took over post-pregnancy. I want my abs back. Or some semblance of abs. Something that I can be proud of.
Want to know more about Revolt? Here is Nichole's Youtube video on her story, more will be coming..more info, more photos. More everything
Where is my video? I will make one soon. And photos? I took some before photos tonight and I look awful. It is a combination of the lighting, and my paleness, and a sports bra and they are just awful. So I will not post them. But I will post my measurements and will post some current photos clothed. Tomorrow, when I can sit up straight without the beating head and tummy. Ugh. I took some detox pills too, so I can stay regular and not have bad stomach pains along with the headache. Better tomorrow,
XO

My sweet little potty training toddler...
Hello Dear Readers:
I am warning you now, this post is full of potty talk, potty training talk and a very satisfied, proud mama's words. I was warned that one day I might be obsessed with all things potty, but I never knew how satisfying it would be to watch my little girl be successful. I never rushed her, didn't push her, wanted her to train herself on her own time. My only time limit was that I wanted Ana to be trained by the beginning of Nursery School this coming September, after she turned 3. Well, it looks like we are right on track. Last week we started training by having her walk around the house either in a pull-up, underwear or nude, depending on what she wanted and it seemed to work. She finally felt what it felt like to have to go and didn't want to make any accidents. So, even though for a few days, we spent half of the day in and out of the potty, it was well worth it. Yesterday and Today, I put a pullup on in the morning, no accidents or wetness all day, late last night Ana woke up and went, then got back in bed, and told me she had to go as soon as she woke up. No wetness over night!! Then this morning, put on a pull up and nothing all day. She is using regular potty's in public, and just in case, I put her little cute Sesame St potty in the trunk. We spent the better part of today out and about shopping and she didnt have one accident. I am so proud, can you tell I am beaming. Tomorrow is another day and we will start the day early at the park for Mama's exercise,(I will bring the potty with us , because there are only port o potties (yick) and then run errands, so it will be another challenging day. But I think she is up for the challenge. I hate to say that this is much easier than I thought it would be. But it is. Phew.
I will check in at the end of this week. But I predict we have bought our last big box of diapers. From here on out it will be one for overnight, and pullups for during the day. I also have underwear and will switch to that in a week or so of full training. :)
Dear Ana-
I am so proud of you my sweet toddler. You always exceed my expectations and fill me with such love. My little baby is growing up. And what a sweet girl you have become. I love you dear Anastasia.
XO Your Mama.

Review : My Tot Clock (an amazing way to get your Toddler to nap, sleep and wake up in a timely manner)

![]() |
Photo used by permission of My Tot Clock |
I received a My Tot Clock to facilitate this review, but the opinions within are my own, and I was not compensated for this post.
You have no idea how excited I was to find out that Ana and I were going to try out a My Tot Clock. Ana is a well behaved toddler, she is super smart and fun loving and I enjoy pretty much every second with her. But I did not enjoy wake up time, until now. You see, Ana does not need as much sleep as the typical toddler and it seemed no matter what time we put her in for sleep she would wake up at around 6 am. I was getting desperate, trying to keep her occupied with books, toys, dolls, whatever it took so I could sleep a little later. And then, the My Tot Clock arrived and saved the day. Nooooow, Ana does not call for me until 7 Am, thats right 7 AM...because she knows that she has to wait for the clock to turn yellow from its lovely blue nightime face. Every morning, I wake to her cute sweet voice yelling , "It's Yellow, It's Yellow Mommy...and I smile, because it is so sweet. It really is remarkable how easy it was for her to understand not to call Mommy until the color changes. And she sticks to it. And she sings with the wake up song , "Happy and You Know It".
![]() |
It's Yellow!! |
I love a lot of the details about the clock especially the different colors for sleepytime, daytime, reward time and punishment accordingly. Blue, Yellow, Green and Red. Basic colors, easy for Ana to identify and understand. And she does. I also love that when it turns blue (we have it set for 8'oclock, but it can be easily changed by holding down the blue button if Ana goes in earlier), lovely music starts playing and lasts for about a half hour, just long enough for Ana to fall fast asleep. Also, there is an option for a bedtime story. Additionally, you can choose for there to be white noise playing after the music, but we opted for quiet and Ana sleeps delightfully through the night.
From the My Tot Clock PR:
"My Tot Clock
is an all-in-one sleep aid, alarm clock, nightlight, and timer for
children ages 2+. It teaches little ones when to sleep (blue light) and
when it's okay to get out of bed (yellow light). It also plays bedtime
stories, lullabies, fun wake music, and even white noise (like ocean
sounds)! As an added bonus, My Tot Clock has
a light blue light for nap time, a red light for timeout, and a green
light for any positive timed activity. Perfect for those young enough to
start learning a daily routine, but not old enough to be able to tell
time. Also great for their sleepy parents! "

Spring Fling, but is it really Spring???
Hello Dear Readers:
If you have been following the facebook page: Everything for Ana on FB, then you know that I am planning a big Spring Fling to celebrate past sponsors as well as new ones, and review some amazing companies and give away some beautiful things along the way. Right now I am planning on starting it May 15th and running for two weeks. (Sounds fabu, non? )
As for spring, well where the H is it? We got a few sunny mild days this past week and then BAM. back to cold, gray drabby day. I feel badly mostly for Ana because she loves playing outside for hours whether at the park, playground or in the backyard, or all of the above. Plus, I am back to taking an outside Stroller Strides class and would really like to start hiking, biking and doing more outside activities on the weekends too.
I really hope that the sun fights through and spring is here to stay,.....soon. Ana and Mama want to come out and play. And wear sundresses. And sandals. And kick balls. Ride bikes. Eat ice cream cones. Climb and then roll down hills. You know all the Sound of Music stuff. In the meantime enter some of the great giveaways up now. Read some of the cute reviews and stick around as Ana heads towards 3 and I plan an adorable crafty mermaid party.
Happy Week! XO

Sweet Pumpkin, ASPCA Adoptable Pet of the week and cutie!
From Olivia at the ASPCA in NYC:
Sweet-as-pie Pumpkin can’t wait to play with his
people in his forever home! He’s full of 3-year-old Pit Bull energy, so
he needs lots of running exercise each day and must attend obedience
classes. Speaking of training: Pumpkin can be a little shy at first, so
his new pet parent should be ready to spend time working with him to
overcome his fears—including his fear of strangers. He has come a long
way since he first came to us but still needs a bit of paw-holding help.
This intelligent pup already knows how to sit, lie down and give paw on
command, and is eager to learn even more tricks for a taste of a
delicious treat. Pumpkin will blossom with an experienced adopter who
lives in a household where all members are teenagers or adults. Pumpkin
is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Review: The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep by Harvey Karp
Hello Dear Readers:
Recently I received a sponsored copy of The Happiest Baby Guide by Harvey Karp to read and review as part of the One2One Network. Right after I delivered Ana I was shown a brief video featuring Dr Karp, and his methods on calming down a baby and putting her to sleep and some of those methods including the shhing worked like a charm. His calm demeanor and patient methods really appeal to the me and calm down my fears of ever getting a good night of sleep.
All in all we have been pretty lucky with Ana and her sleep patterns. Other than being a naturally early riser, with an early on-set routine established , she has slept through the night for a long time and knows the bedtime routine. We have maintained consistency with bedtime for the past year or so, and so Ana not only enjoys the routine, but expects it. Therefore, we have changed bedtime from 8-9 pm ish to 730ish.
Upon reading this great guide, I turned to Part 3: Sleep Solutions in the Toddler and Preschool Years: One to Five Years. Chapter 10.
Here I learned that my child is a pretty easy kid. I always knew that Ana has a good disposition and rarely exhibits that horrible toddler tantrum stuff that 2 and 3 years old often fall prey to. And that by putting her life into a routine pretty early on, it has helped organize our day and helped her sleep time too. Ana loves brushing her teeth, taking vitamins and picking out which books we are going to read. We visit the library at least once a week and I let her choose a couple of books that I know she will love to keep the books from becoming too repetitive. Also, we have made bathtime even more fun by adding a fun bubble bath that she can play in while I wash her hair. Most of these steps we do in our own way, but I will be adapting a couple as well and adding them to our night. I really like the idea of Patience stretching (pg 214), and will be using this as learn patience together. I have always used counting for my own patience so it only makes sense that Ana would respond well to waiting for something worth waiting for too.
I love how well organized this book is. You can read it in order or out of order, or just skip to the parts you really need for your routine. I read a good deal of it even though Ana is almost three. I really love the language that is used, how the chapters are broken down and the calm and fun way that sleep is dealt with. I will be adding this book to my book collection on raising Ana, and would recommend it to any parent with or without baby/toddler sleep issues.
The book suggests several steps to make the bedtime routine easier. Toddler-ese, patience-stretching, magic breathing, gossiping, playing the boob, sticker charts, fairy tales, role-playing, and a Beddy-Bye book. I will be adding some that I think will work with Ana and will store the rest away to remember if we encounter a sleep problem further down the road.

Bullet Points from the Publisher:
Harvey Karp made doctors applaud and parents cheer with his brilliant
solutions to centuries-old problems such as colic and tantrums. Now, in THE
HAPPIEST BABY GUIDE TO GREAT SLEEP: Simple Solutions for Kids from
Birth to 5 Years (William Morrow Paperback; On-Sale: March 19, 2013;
$15.99; ISBN: 9780062113320), Dr. Karp stuns the world again by
solving the #1 problem plaguing new parents: exhaustion. Dr. Karp's
surprising insights include:
How to train brand new babies to sleep better: Infants can be taught to sleep at least one extra hour from the first weeks of life! Dr. Karp shows how to safely boost baby sleep in just days.
What’s the best white noise (and which ones worsen sleep): The right white noise (low pitched and rumbling) is the key to good sleep—even through teething—for all babies. Plus, it even gives parents a more restful sleep
Why parents should always wake a sleeping baby: For good sleep, babies must learn how to self-soothe. The best way to teach babies how to fall back to sleep—when they rouse in the middle of the night—is to wake them just as they’re being put into bed.
How to enjoy the benefits - and avoid the risks - of swaddling: Swaddling dramatically improves a new baby’s sleep. Yet, many states are shockingly banning this ancient parenting tool. Smart moms should do it and Dr. Karp will teach them how to do it properly and safely.
The importance of powering down: Staring at bright screens at night (TVs, computers, phones) can wreak a toddler and a parent’s sleep.
Easy "no-cry" tips that end infant and toddler bedtime struggles in just days!
With THE HAPPIEST BABY GUIDE TO GREAT SLEEP, no longer will new parent have to suffer months of sleep deprivation and no longer will babies have to cry themselves to sleep. Backed by compelling science, common sense and decades of experience, Dr. Karp’s landmark guide will revolutionize how millions of children drift off to dreamland.

A quick weekend catch up....
It is Saturday night and I am already pooped. It has been a spectacular week of birthday celebrations , family visits and fun. We had a great music class, some fun playdates, and hard workouts at Stroller Strides. This week I start a new workout regime that I am so excited to tell you all about and I continue to eat healthy, managing to avoid cupcakes, pizza and fattening foods. I really do not have a number goal this time around, it is more that I want to fit into some clothes that I bought before I was pregnant with Ana including the cutest black and white DVF dress. Which is a tiny size 4. Not a generous 4 , a tiny 4. But, I think with hard work, determination, running and eating healthy all summer I will get there. Can I maintain a 4? I am not sure, but I sure as heck will try.
In the meantime, I will eat lots of salads, fish and fresh fruits and veggies. And this summer we have our CSA..woohooo!!
Photos coming soon and some great reviews including the most adorable Eshakti dress that I measured for and it fits like a glove!!!
Happy Weekend.

Giveaway: 3 Disc Necklace from Gorjana and Gumball #giveaway
Review: Adorable Star Wars Clone Trooper Anastasia

I am not sure how much you know about Duncan (if anything), but do know that he LOOVES Star Wars. He has this big box of original Star Wars toys that he is holding on to, and though I tease him about it, I think it is pretty cool. I was a little young when the original movies came out, but I did catch them later on when I was a teen.
And now it is time for us to introduce Ana to the Star Wars phenomenon. So you can imagine how stoked I was when Wholesale Halloween Costumes contacted me to review one of their Clone Trooper Costumes.
I showed Ana our choices and she chose this one:
I think it is cool that she chose a non girly, non princessy costume, and picked this cool soldier instead. It is so different from her piles of tutus and princess dresses in her dress-up closet. Wait until you see it on her, ridic cute! And she has not even seen any Clone Trooper movie to base it on, but she knew right away to hold her head up high and act more masculine and powerful. SO cute . Ready??
I told you she looked cute. So different from her layers of tulle and taffeta. She loves playing with the helmet and making robotic voices too. Such a little actress. We had a great time playing with this costume and it will bring great for roleplaying and Halloween fun for many years to come.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Eating Healthy, new and old recipes and healthy foods for me!!
Hello Dear Readers-
Soooo I have been threatening to add new recipes here for a while and just haven't had a bit of time to add them this week. But Ana went to sleep early tonight so I can get some in during my Mama time. So without further ado, here are a couple recipes that I have made recently and some great foods I have added to my weekly diet.
Recipes:
Kale Chips
Low fat Cheese Danish
Kale Chips:
Ingredients:
Low fat Cheese Danish:
Ingredients:
A piece of lowfat, or low calorie whole wheat, raisin or oat bread.
Lowfat ricotta cheese
Sugar, honey or sweetner of choice
Raisins
I remember this recipe from when my mom followed the Weight Watchers plan in the 80s, and this may be modified since I am making it from memory.
Directions:
Roll out a piece of bread of choice with a rolling pin on a cutting board or flat surface until flat. Mix ricotta, sugar or sweetener, and raisins in a small bowl (I eyed it, probably about a 1/4 cup of cheese). Spread evenly on one side of bread and then roll tightly. Toast in toaster oven for about 6-7 minutes or until golden brown. YUM...delish and lowfat.
Since I started watching what I eat again, I have been focusing on cutting out the rice, bread, and extra unnecessary carbs. I gave up desserts for awhile and have cut down on salty snacks (except airpopped popcorn once in a while). I have added more greens, more fish and more fresh fruit for snacks.
We make Kale, Spinach, Broccoli, lots of salads, salmon, egg white omelets, tuna over salad, chicken with veggies in the slow cooker, and collard greens. This week we added chicken sausage and corn to celebrate the grill being open for the season. Sound good?? More recipes to come this week. I promise.
Have a great week and Happy Monday!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper. ( or tinfoil, which worked for me)
- With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
- Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.
- I added cheese for an extra kick, but you can use seasoned salt too. Also, I used bagged kale already washed and cut for an easier recipe. I added all of the ingredients into a bowl and mixed before spreading on the cookie sheet.
- Crunchy and delish!

Weekly Update: Strollers Strides, Eating Healthy and Shopping, Oh MY!
Phew, dear Readers.
We got a lot done this week. As you know, I restarted Stroller Strides to help me lose the stubborn 10-15 lbs of baby weight that I want gone forever. I am also eating healthy and will be adding the recipes and foods I am eating soon (I promise). In the meantime, we got a lot done at home including setting up some of the furniture that is going into the craft room. I cannot wait, it is going to look so cute. Also, Ana and I got a bit of shopping done , and now I have 25 new tank tops to layer for spring, lol. Ana got a few new goodies too. Photos to follow. Heading out adventure hunting with G'ma tomorrow , so hopefully we will find some crafting goodies, maybe an outfit or two and some surprises. Heading out super early, so will catch up with you soon. This week starts my scheduled posts and I signed up for some great group giveaways too!
Oh, and have you seen my new (old) hair? I was inspired to return to the bright red by the return of Mad Men! Here are a couple of photos hubby took:
and
and one of Ana , while shopping today. She loves to pretend she is a mannequin, gets on the stands with them and demands I take a photo while she poses (so cute):
More photos coming. As Ana approaches 3, I will be doing a lot of retrospectives of her first 3 years of life :)
Happy Weekend,
Xo

Sparkle Farms Adorable Bloomer Shorts Review

Hello Dear Readers-
Ana loves to wear dresses. And she loves to climb. And climbing in dresses, well, is not so ladylike when a diaper or panty is showing under a skirt or dress. Here is where Sparkle Farms comes in to save the day with their adorable Bloomer Shorts. We received an adorable pink package of three cute bloomers for Ana to try under her dresses and skirts (see photos). They are comfy, well made and she barely noticed that she was wearing a dress when climbing.
