Please excuse my absence...we are under the weather...

Or at least we were. Terribly.  First Ana, then Mama, then Dada....we all had it. It was a head cold, then became a stomach flu/virus and now it is just annoying nasal drip and headache. But, we are out of bed, in the playroom and getting ready to enter the human world again. It took me out of commission for a good 2 weeks now.  Ugh. I hope you do not get it.  Anywho, I have great photos from my first Julia Child recipe and am excited about my next! Plus some cute Ana in the snow photos!!

Another Resolution: Bake More! Tackling Julia Child, and other yummies.

Hello fab readers! Today A and I are home with a cold, but we are not going to let it get us down. We had some of daddy's homemade chicken soup and tea, and A is playing nicely in the playroom.  I am getting the baby book out and adding to the list of words that A likes to use. Her new words include:apple, car, train, plane, bus and balloon (which she has been calling ball for a while now). She also says avocado the right way, added the m into Milk, and loves to say Phone and sadly, Ipad...which she is obsessed with on certain days. I am trying not to let her rely on electronics for fun, but to be fair the Ipad and Iphone keep her quiet and occupied in public and have helped her learn words and her A, B. Cs...so I cannot fault it. I started another of my resolutions which is to bake more, and helping me with that is my new Kitchenaid Mixer. The Mixer was a total surprise present from D, and boy is it gorgeous ...I cannot wait to show you how I broke it in. Photos in the next post. In the meantime, we will eat, drink and play ourselves back into good health.  Check out my next post for a yummy Julia Child crust and a  pie recipe complete with photos and back to the photo of the day too!

1/5 and 1/6 Fruit is good!!

Fruit is sticky, ma!

 Ana has made a reversal on some of her fave snacks and now likes a lot of the fruit that she initially rejected. I am really happy that she loves avocados, apples, grapes, strawberries, bananas, melon, blueberries and mango.


 I want her to try papayas and kiwi soon, but I am not sure she is ready for those more unusual fruit tastes and flavors.

More strawberries?

Hello friends and followers:
  Just wanted to drop a quick note and let you know that I am in the weekly Woman's World for January 16th on page 20.  (a cute photo too) I tested a new diet for them, and it worked so well...I am going to try it again until I reach my 20th high school reunion goal.  That is right, it is my 20th high school reunion this year, and I want to look my best. Who doesn't ?? I have been thinking about contacting mags and shows for a makeover in time for it next October, as it is a big one..and I have this stubborn post baby weight that just will not GO AWAY!!  What do you think?? I will have to scan it in for those of you whose supermarkets do not carry it...it is fun to flip through when you are in line too!!!

A photo a day! NY Resolution #1

So my first NY Resolution is to attempt to post one photo a day of Ana to show her progress in growth and learning.  Although I am already 2 days behind..yikes, I promise to stay on top of this resolution as much as I can. Originally, I was going to take a photo in the same place every day for a year, but I think that may get boring..so I will just post a sweet, funny or silly photo everyday.

Our holiday in Photos :) Part 1

Hello readers!!
    We had a wonderful holiday season with Anastasia, she really had fun traveling and seeing all of the family, trying new foods, and of course, opening and playing with her new presents. As she grows more and more, she amazes me through her creative play, wonderful vocabulary and cute mannerisms. She really is becoming a mini me, and we are having so much fun teaching her everyday.  I have some funny and fun videos to share, but first, photos!!!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Just a quick note to say Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from our house to yours.  I am currently writing my resolutions and of course one of my top ones is to blog more. I am going to join in on the 366 project, is it 366 or 365? Well, anywho, my plan is to take and post one photo or video a day for a year. Mostly revolving around Ana of course, lol.  

In anticipation of this, I have opened a Youtube page for her videos. I have taken so many over the past year and a half and will slowly go through, edit and add to her page the cutest and the funniest of the bunch.

In the meantime, Happy New Year....may 2012 bring you happiness, good health and wealth. :)
